Who it is for

EHS coordinators, fitness centre staff, security officers, first aiders, and corporate employees.

What you will learn

  • Recognise sudden cardiac arrest and distinguish agonal gasps from normal breathing
  • Deliver high-quality chest compressions with correct depth, recoil, and compression rate (100–120 bpm)
  • Administer effective rescue breaths using barrier shields or pocket masks
  • Safely deploy and follow automated voice prompts from an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Perform coordinated two-rescuer CPR transitions to minimize compression pauses

Objectives are proposed syllabus content, shared for your review and adjusted to your facility.

Topics covered

  1. 1The Chain of Survival in sudden cardiac arrest
  2. 2Adult CPR mechanics: hand placement, 30:2 ratio, and fatigue management
  3. 3AED operation: pad placement, rhythm analysis safety, and clearing the patient before shock delivery
  4. 4Special AED situations: wet victims, implanted pacemakers, and medication patches
  5. 5Choking relief for conscious and unconscious choking victims (Heimlich manoeuvre)

Practical activities

  • Continuous chest compression practice on calibrated CPR mannequins
  • Hands-on pad placement and simulated shock delivery using training AED units
  • Relief of choking simulation practice

Venue and delivery arrangements are confirmed during enquiry.

Site space and clearance

Air-conditioned indoor training hall with carpet or floor mats for kneeling.

Frequently asked questions

Can an AED accidentally shock someone if their heart is beating normally?
No. Modern AEDs automatically analyze the victim's cardiac rhythm and will only advise a shock if a shockable rhythm (ventricular fibrillation or pulseless VT) is detected.
